For 25 years, I worked at Allied Van Lines, the moving company that helps people move from one place to another. As a travel advisor for the past 20-plus years, I’m still helping people move around the world. When I plan a client’s trip, I like to focus on their heritage and research their family tree whenever possible. One of the best trips I’ve ever planned, in fact, was for a client who wanted to go to Germany to find his family castle. I got him on an AmaWaterways river cruise and hired him a private driver for two days to take him to the family castle and graves and to explore the town where his ancestors once lived. St. Thomas and Hawaii of two of my favorite destinations. I enjoy walking around and soaking up the beautiful scenery. I collect a rock from every destination I visit. My dad always taught me it’s something that doesn’t cost you anything but will give you all the memories you have of the city. We always write the date and place where we picked it up. My husband and I like to round dance and ballroom dance. My other hobby is bowling. I have four kids, two grandsons and two granddaughters, and two dogs.

I started in the travel industry doing the accounting and taking care of everything administrative as the Operations Manager. But soon found through my love of cruising that I was gaining a lot of knowledge that I was happy to share with both colleagues and clients. A few years ago I relinquished the accounting side to concentrate on cruising. After more than 100 cruises all over the world, my enthusiasm is as strong as ever. There are still places to go and people to meet in future travels.

Although Nick Hofstadter formally began his travel career in 2014, in a way he had already been ensconced in the field his whole life. From a young age, Nick was fascinated by travel, hotels, aviation and food. While growing up, Nick traveled extensively with his family and enjoyed multiple study abroad experiences in high school, college and graduate school. Nick left his hometown of Los Angeles to attend journalism school at New York University, where he trained in both print and broadcast media. Upon receiving his BA, Nick stayed in New York and spent several years reporting on travel, food, nightlife, luxury services and weddings. Nick's work with the New York Magazine Wedding Guide ultimately led to a secondary career in special event planning and hospitality marketing, which inspired him to return to NYU and obtain a Master's in Hospitality and Tourism. He returned to Los Angeles upon completing his degree and officially began his career as a luxury travel specialist at All Star Travel Group, where he remained for five years until joining the Luxe family. Nick's favorite travel destination is Paris and when he isn't working or enjoying the many things he loves about Los Angeles, he can be found eating his way through the world's greatest cities and finding the closest spin studio to work it all off.
